Maximus' Story is an original story that follows the life of General Maximus Decimus Meridius (portrayed in the movie by Russell Crowe, left) from his childhood in Spain to the battle that ends the strife in Germania in A.D. 180. It explores his complex relationships with characters like Marcus Aurelius, Commodus and Quintus, and considerably develops his young love for Lucilla as well his life with his wife and son in Spain. Maximus' Story also introduces many new characters as we trace Maximus' rise from a boy in the army to his powerful position as commander of the northern legions and the favorite of emperor Marcus Aurelius. Absolutely no profit has been made by the writing or publishing of this story on the Internet.
